before the first class

The picture is from last year ARCH1142 montage work. By using the Photoshop, we putting the model we made into a photo to make it look real. The idea of the model come from Eduardo Chillida's works.

The architecture "cloudy house", designed by Japanese architecture practice TAKAKO SHIOTSUKA ATELIER. This is a two storey private house in a small city of Japan. As the house is surrounded by low houses and field, architectures focus on the way it open to the environment. The tunnel-like entrance directly to every function room of the house, emphasizing the openness of the building. The tranditional  leaning roof reduce the using space but the way the terrace open to the sky create more interest to the house and allow more connection to the outside world.

The interesting point about this picture is the man who lying in the middle of the sand. If you only looked at the bottom part of the picture, it gives a illsion of a man in desert. But the top part is a beautiful beach. The man is far from the happy crowd, isolated in this busy beach but still in  calm. The sense of conflict  is showing in the picture.
